We are looking for a dedicated HR Generalist to join our team in Carol Stream, Illinois. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring smooth payroll and benefits administration, supporting employee training programs, and contributing to talent management processes. The position also involves assisting with onboarding, offboarding, and maintaining compliance with safety standards.

This position will report to the Human Resources Manager and will work on-site M-F and pay is $70k-$75k. Client offers medical, dental, vision, 401k with a match, PTO, critical illness, pet insurance, short and long term disability. Recruiter: Connie Stathopoulos

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Payroll / Benefits:
  • Serves as back-up to Payroll and Benefits Administrator.
  • Performs pre-payroll and post-payroll processing in Paylocity for 100 multi-state employees
  • Maintains employee benefits including enrollments, qualifying events, and terminations in Employee Navigator
  • Assists with leave administration including FMLA, STD, LTD, ADA accommodations, and personal unpaid LOA
  • Training:
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents training records in Paylocity.
  • Talent Management:
  • Assists HRM withthe hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions.
  • Onboarding / Offboarding
  • Initiates new hire orientation; acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications. Coordinates and schedules first week orientation and training.
  • Initiates offboarding of departing employees; schedules exit interviews and disseminates to appropriate personnel.
  • Occupational Health and Safety
  • Site safety inspections.
  • Injury management; coordination with WC carrier
  • Submission of safety compliance information for service visits
  • Will perform other duties as assigned:
  • Policy interpretation and administration
  • Assistance with compensation projects
  • Entering data and maintaining integrity of Paylocity information
  • Assistance with company-wide events
  • Assistance with performance management administration


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Strong communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities.

· Excellent organizational, time management, and task prioritization skills with attention to detail.

· Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

· In-depth knowledge of payroll processing, employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS; Paylocity or similar payroll processing software required.

Education and Experience

· 2 – 4 years payroll processing and related HR experience.

· Bachelor’s or associates degree in human resources or similar discipline; may substitute combination of some college or PHR certification + 5 years related experience.

· Previous experience in a manufacturing environment highly desirable.
