Job DescriptionMedical Temporaries, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced:
***Radiologic Technologist ***
- Minimum of 1 (one) year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist in an Ortho setting preferred (but new grads will be considered for temp-to-hire)
This is a FULL TIME / TEMP position (with possibility of Temp-to-Hire) , main site will be located in Hampton (23666) but floating to Newport News and Suffolk locations is required. The position is requiring availability from Monday - Friday to start out between the hours of 8am-5pm.....as the candidate gets comfortable in position they will move to a full time - 4 day per week schedule (alternating day off during the week) requiring availability between 7am-5:30pm.
Job Purpose:The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for producing quality diagnostic radiographs with a high degree of proficiency.
Responsibilities:
A Day in the life of a Radiologic Technologist (Ortho):
- Review and evaluate developed computer-generated information to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
- Operate or oversee operation of radiologic imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
- Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety of patients and staff.
- Position imaging equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance, according to specification of examination.
- Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure safety and comfort during scan.
- Position patient on examining table.
- Maintain examination rooms, ensuring that all necessary equipment is clean and ready.
- Monitor patients' conditions and reactions, reporting abnormal signs to physician.
- Record, process, and maintain patient data or treatment records.
- Monitor video display of area being scanned and adjust density or contrast to improve picture quality.
- Coordinate work with clinical personnel or other technologists.
- Aid in dressing or changing seriously ill, injured, or disabled patients.
- Participate in the instruction and evaluation of, and work with Radiologic Technology students.
- Communicating with supervisors, peers, or subordinates
- Performing for or working directly with the public
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:Frequently standing, walking, and sitting. Ability to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear. Ability to pull, lift, carry, and push greater than 150lbs repetitively. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus.
Requirements for the Radiologic Technologist:
- Preferred: 1+ years as a Radiologic Technologist (new grads will be considered)
- Preferred: Experience in an ortho setting
- Required: Valid ARRT Certification
- Required: graduate of accredited RT school
- Required: RT VA state License
- Required: BLS
- Required: Ability to pass Background Check
- Required: Must be reliable and a quick learner and have ability to multi-task with accuracy in a very busy environment
- Required: Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Required: Ability to work as a team
- Preferred: Navy Blue Scrubs or solid color
- Preferred: experience using EClinical Works (eCW)
