Job Title: Radiology / Cardiology / Ultrasound Technologist
Location: Saint Paul, Minnesota
Duration: 13 Weeks
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist to perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound procedures in a fast-paced acute care environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings while delivering high-quality patient care and producing accurate diagnostic images.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations according to physician orders and departmental protocols.
- Obtain high-quality images for interpretation while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Conduct abdominal, obstetric, vascular, and other ultrasound procedures within scope of practice.
- Assist with ultrasound-guided biopsies and interventional procedures.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment and imaging systems.
- Document procedures accurately within the electronic medical record system.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Adhere to quality assurance, patient safety, and infection prevention standards.
- Float within the department as needed to support operational requirements.
Requirements
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of Ultrasound experience required.
- First-time travelers accepted.
- Experience in acute care settings required, including:
- Inpatient
- Outpatient
- Emergency Department
- Teaching Hospital
- Community Hospital
Certifications & Licensure
- BLS Certification required.
- RDMS (AB) required.
- RDMS (OB) required.
- RVT required.
- Pending state licensure accepted where applicable.
Technical Skills
- PACS experience required.
- Portable ultrasound experience required.
- Biopsy procedure experience required.
- Experience with Philips ultrasound equipment preferred.
- Epic EMR experience required.
Preferred Qualities
- Strong patient care and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a high-volume setting.
- Excellent attention to detail and image quality standards.
- Ability to adapt to varying shift schedules and departmental needs.
