We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Research Nurse to perform technical and clinical requirements of study protocols. This includes venipuncture, specimen processing, vital signs, and more. This role also involves attending meetings to gain training on drug preparation and administration, monitoring for complications, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with audits.
Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, specimen processing, vital signs, electrocardiograms, IV infusions, IV pump operations, and other clinical procedures as needed for study protocols.
- Attend investigator meetings, site initiation visits, and coordinator meetings to gain training on drug preparation and administration.
- Obtain knowledge of study drugs, with emphasis on injection or intravenous infusion medications.
- Monitor for complications with administration of study drugs, particularly injections or intravenous infusions.
- Maintain accurate dispensing logs, including information such as lot number and drug vs. placebo.
- Document laboratory data and adverse reactions, notifying investigators and relevant parties of any serious events.
- Assist staff members as determined by organizational needs.
- Actively recruit and sell services to patient participants for clinical trials.
- Complete training on Clinical Trial Management System and maintain skills for database updates and participant reimbursement.
- Communicate patient status, recruitment status, and study needs to investigators and Site Manager.
- Build relationships with monitors from sponsoring companies and promote the site for future trials.
- Prepare study documentation for audits and assist auditors.
- Order and monitor clinical supplies and rescue drugs, ensuring proper documentation and maintenance.
- Monitor and maintain temperatures of refrigerators, freezer units, and investigational product storage.
- Act as OSHA Representative, maintaining employee immunization records and administering vaccines.
- Perform equipment calibration and maintain calibration records.
- Support training and development of clinical skills for site staff.
- Travel to other sites within the network may be required to support workload increases and projects.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Must have an active RN license for the applicable state.
- 1+ years of prior CRC/CRN/Research experience is ideal.
- If no prior research experience, a minimum of 2+ years of nursing experience is required.
- IV Insertion experience is a huge plus.
Work Environment
This position is on-site Monday to Friday, totaling 40 hours per week. You will be working with one of the leading healthcare providers in the US, offering opportunities for advancement within the organization.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
