Job DescriptionPosition Overview:Akicita Federal is seeking experienced and compassionate Emergency Room (ER) Nurses to join our healthcare team. The ER Nurse will be responsible for providing 24/7 emergency patient care as part of a rotating shift schedule that includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Nurses must meet all required competencies and provide care in accordance with applicable standards, regulations, and policies.Key Responsibilities:-Deliver emergency nursing care in accordance with department procedures and the Statement of Duties.-Perform all tasks at full-duty status following physical clearance for the role.-Provide and manage patient care consistent with the standards of the Emergency Department, including acute triage, assessment, and stabilization.-Respond effectively to life-threatening situations using appropriate protocols and critical thinking.-Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and patient rights/privacy regulations.-Follow all hospital and contract-specific protocols, including emergency codes and charting/documentation using Electronic Health Records (EHR).-Administer medications, IV therapy, and perform venipuncture in accordance with clinical guidelines.-Carry out duties associated with charge nurse responsibilities, when required.-Respond to incidents involving sexual or physical assault patients with sensitivity and care.-Maintain a culturally aware and respectful approach to patient care, including understanding Navajo and Zuni cultures.
Qualifications:Education & Experience:-Minimum of 3 years of professional nursing experience, preferably in an emergency care setting.
Licensure:-Current, valid, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in any U.S. state, D.C., Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory.-Must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX).
Certifications (Required and/or Preferred):-Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required-Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – Required-Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – Preferred-Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – Preferred-Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) and/or Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) – Preferred-Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) – Preferred
Work Environment & Conditions:-Fast-paced Emergency Department setting-12-hour shift coverage, rotating between day, mid, and night shifts-Subject to weekend and holiday work-May involve exposure to contagious diseases, critical incidents, and high-acuity trauma patients
