We have an immediate and excellent opportunity for an Electrical Power Distribution Planner 3. This individual will provide design and technological skills to a team of engineers, designers, and planners to provide support to a variety of power utility-oriented projects. This position consists of pre-fielding, fielding, and preparing work orders for the underground and overhead electric distribution designs primarily working with deteriorate pole replacement. This position requires traveling to field assignments as needed in the Southern California territory.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Complete pre-fielding, fielding, and planning for overhead work orders
- Meet deadlines and manage multiple jobs meeting all requirements
- Translate Wind Loading / Pole Loading / compliance forms
- Conduct field site visits; meet with developers, customers, local agencies
- Field check design layouts
- Ability to work in a team environment and self-motivated
- Communicate effectively with team leads, designers, and external stakeholders
- High attention to detail
- Time management; prioritizing work and documenting tasks
- Punctual for daily start time and meetings
- Work after normal hours as needed
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma required
- Minimum of 4 years of overhead electric utility experience (required)
- 1-year minimum years’ experience planning deteriorate pole replacements preferred
- Knowledge and experience using SPIDA and Esri GIS and other det pole software
- Two years of experience with Southern California Edison system design and construction requirements
- Experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Autodesk AutoCAD, and pole structural analysis software
- Knowledge of Power Distribution Design Standards, Power Overhead and Underground Construction Standards, Power Electrical Service Requirements
- Industry experience with electrical overhead (OH) and underground (UG) electrical distribution facilities, energized at voltages between 0 - 50KV.
- Keeping a current state driver’s license without restrictions.
