Summary of Position:
The Child and Adolescent Therapist provides trauma-informed, culturally responsive mental health services to children and adolescents with priority given to the clients of the Kewa House Youth Shelter and in the school setting. This role supports the emotional, psychological, and behavioral well-being of youth through individual therapy, group counseling, crisis intervention, and care coordination. Collaborates and coordinates with members of the Kewa Family Wellness Center, Bernalillo School District, BIA Schools, and other teams to ensure high quality care. Additionally, the therapist holds clinical oversight responsibilities for the shelter's Comprehensive Community Support Services (CCSS), ensuring compliance with New Mexico Medicaid standards and promoting recovery, rehabilitation, and resiliency among clients. Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related behavioral health field.
- Current License as an independent practitioner (LISW/LCSW, LPCC, LMFT, LPAT)
- At least one (1) year of experience providing therapeutic services to children and adolescents.
- Knowledge of trauma, abuse, neglect, attachment disorders, and behavioral interventions.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills focus the efforts of entire staff to meet the Santo Domingo Tribe goals.
- Ability to pass background check and maintain CPR/First Aid certification.
- Valid New Mexico driver's license with ability to meet Santo Domingo Tribe liability insurance requirements and maintain eligibility for insurance.
- Must have previous experience and understanding working with Native American clients and communities with a commitment to culturally informed care.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two or more years of experience in child welfare, residential care, or tribal behavioral health.
- Bilingual in Keres
- Familiarity with ICWA, CYFD systems, and wraparound care models.
