At MD Office Solutions, we provide nuclear cardiology imaging services directly to physician offices, outpatient clinics, and hospitals across California and Arizona — delivering convenient, high-quality cardiac diagnostics where patients need them most. Our headquarters are in Hayward, CA, with Arizona operations serving the Phoenix and Tucson areas.

Our Nuclear Medicine Technologists work alongside MDOS Cardiac Stress Technicians (CSTs) and clinic staff in a collaborative, team-based environment. Many of our technologists work 3–4 clinic days per week while maintaining strong weekly earnings.

AZ-based technologists also have the opportunity to travel to California for 1–2 week assignments, increasing overall earning potential.

Newly licensed Nuclear Medicine Technologists are encouraged to apply.


Compensation

  • Starting at $60/hr.
  • Higher rates based on experience, role, and employment status
  • Full-time technologists may earn approximately $130,000 annually
  • Starting at $37/hr.
  • Higher rates based on experience and role
  • Technologists may earn $70,000+ annually, including California travel assignments


How We Work – Assignment Models

MDOS offers flexible assignment models designed to fit your schedule and location. California technologists may choose between two standard models. Arizona assignments are structured based on location and operational needs.


Traditional Mobile

  • Report to an MDOS hub (Hayward or Fresno)
  • Travel with the team and imaging equipment to clinic sites
  • Ideal for technologists who prefer a structured team-based start to their day


Fixed Mobile

  • Report directly to your assigned clinic location(s)
  • Consistent site placement with a predictable commute
  • Ideal for technologists seeking schedule flexibility and independence


Both models are available for PRN, Part-Time, and Full-Time positions.

  • Hub-based assignments depart from the Phoenix hub
  • Fixed Mobile placements available on a case-by-case basis
  • Tucson-area candidates especially encouraged — local clinic coverage and regional routes available

Employment Options

MDOS operates on a biweekly pay period. Full-time status is defined as 30 or more hours per week.


PRN / Per Diem

  • Approximately 1–2 days per pay period
  • May be assigned to consistent clinic locations
  • Report directly to the clinic site
  • Ideal for those seeking maximum schedule flexibility


Part-Time

  • Approximately 2 days per week (4 days per pay period)
  • Less than 30 hours per week
  • Consistent recurring schedule with stable clinic assignment or regional route


Full-Time

  • Typically, 3–4 clinic days per week
  • 30+ hours per week

A Typical Day at MDOS

Your day begins by meeting your MDOS Cardiac Stress Technician (CST) and preparing the imaging equipment for the day’s clinic schedule. Together, you will support multiple outpatient cardiology clinic locations, performing nuclear cardiology imaging procedures and ensuring patients receive safe, accurate, and compassionate care.

Clinic schedules are generally heaviest Tuesday through Thursday, with lighter schedules earlier or later in the week. Most workdays occur Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday coverage depending on operational needs.


Position Overview

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs cardiac nuclear imaging procedures, prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals, and ensures high standards of patient care, radiation safety, and imaging quality. Technologists may support mobile imaging operations serving multiple clinic locations or may be assigned to consistent clinic sites depending on operational needs and employment status.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform cardiac nuclear stress testing and imaging procedures
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals
  • Operate nuclear medicine imaging equipment
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation and imaging records
  • Follow radiation safety standards and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with Cardiac Stress Technicians and clinic staff
  • Ensure a safe and professional patient care environment

For mobile assignments: some days may include travel between clinic locations. Drive time is compensated when operating MDOS company vehicles. California overtime laws apply when applicable.


Qualifications

  • ARRT(N) or NMTCB certification
  • Active state Nuclear Medicine Technologist License — California and/or Arizona — or ability to obtain prior to start date
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record to operate company fleet vehicles
  • Strong patient care and communication skills
  • Ability to travel to clinic locations when required


Education & Experience

  • Degree or certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology
  • 1+ year of nuclear medicine imaging experience preferred, particularly cardiac imaging
  • Experience performing quality assurance on nuclear medicine equipment preferred


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to assist patients and remain on your feet for extended periods
  • Ability to push or maneuver mobile medical equipment (up to 800 lbs)


Work Environment

Technologists provide services in physician offices, outpatient clinics, and hospital settings as part of MDOS’s mobile imaging program. As with all healthcare roles, exposure to infectious diseases and radiation is possible. MDOS technologists follow strict radiation safety protocols, including use of personal radiation monitoring badges and protective equipment. Emergency response procedures may apply in the event of a radioactive spill.
