Position Overview
The Food and Beverage Manager- Walton Arts Center supports the Food & Beverage Department by planning and overseeing the day-to-day food and beverage operations at the Walton Arts Center (WAC). This position will directly manage all concession stands and points of sale, coordinate with the Marketing Department for signage and advertising initiatives, assist with WAC budget creation and management, and supervise the food and beverage staff onsite including, but not limited to, bartenders and lounge hosts.
Requirements:
Principal Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Direct oversight of the food and beverage staff during events.
- Direct oversight of all concessions bars and service locations during all performances, client events and internal events.
- Oversee point-of-sale operations, including menu and product category creation, vending location setup, software/hardware updates, and distribution of POS equipment. Understand comprehensive POS operation including voids, stand sheets, opening and closing inventory, point of sale functions, and event reports.
- Ensure uncompromising sanitation and cleanliness standards as a top operational priority, ensuring full compliance and accountability before, during, and after all events.
- Directly coordinate with the Marketing Department for all marketing initiatives and advertising signage for food and beverage operations.
- Coordinate with the Senior Director of Event Operations, Events Department, Development Department, and Communications/Marketing teams on F&B needs related to shows, donor activations, client events, and organizational initiatives.
- Provide oversight of the food and beverage payroll completed by the Food and Beverage Administrative Assistant on a bi-weekly frequency.
- Assist the Director of Food and Beverage with the capital budget, operational budget, event budgets, Friends Lounge Budget, and client rental budgets.
- Training, and coaching of all Food and Beverage staff on best practices, cleanliness, and responsible alcohol service.
- ·Determine staffing requirements for each show or event and coordinate with the Food and Beverage Administrative Assistant to schedule staff accordingly.
- Delegate, oversee, and provide direction to staff during event operations for set-up and close-down.
- Communicate company policy, standards, and procedures and ensure staff compliance.
- Monitor best practices for pours, recipes, and beverage standards.
- Address and resolve customer complaints promptly.
- Assist the Food and Beverage Purchasing Manager with inventory and ordering supplies as needed, check-in deliveries and ensure proper documentation is complete.
- Cultivate good relationships with suppliers and sales representatives as required.
- Implement systems to maximize sales, control costs, and drive revenue growth.
- Oversee bar layouts and displays to maximize functionality, efficiency and visual appeal.
- Generate and present financials for end of show reports for all events.
- Maintain ongoing communication with staff and management through meetings and discussions.
- Perform related duties as assigned by the Director of Food and Beverage or Sr. Manager of F&B.
- Ensure compliance with all organizational policies and procedures.

Education, Training, Traits
- High school diploma or GED required.
- ServSafe Certification required.
- Strong knowledge of spirits, beer, and wine.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, nights, and weekends as show and event calendars fluctuate. Occasionally long hours are required.
- Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced work environment.
- Must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain a positive attitude while providing exemplary customer service.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and complete assignments within established guidelines.
- Ability to perform essential job functions safely and successfully in compliance with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance in accordance with organizational and legal requirements.
Work Experience
- 4 years minimum food and beverage management experience in an environment focused on high-end premium customer experiences (fine dining restaurant, clubs/suites, performing arts center)
- Previous bar and concessions sales experience preferred.
Physical
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
- Must have a working cell phone and be willing to install basic applications and be willing to use it for work purposes.
- Must be able to endure sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to endure standing or walking for extended periods of time on various surfaces such as concrete, grass, and inclined surfaces.
- Must be able to endure outdoor elements including cold, heat, wind, and/or precipitation.
- Must be able to work in large, crowded environments, with flashing lights, loud music and noises, pyrotechnics, and cannons as part of shows and events.
