Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This position offers a rewarding opportunity to support elementary students with special needs in a resource special education role. Situated within a lively elementary school environment, this contract position runs from early January through late May, providing consistent hours Monday through Friday.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering specialized instruction tailored to students individual education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborating with teachers and staff to create inclusive learning environments
- Monitoring student progress and adapting strategies as needed
- Maintaining detailed documentation and communication with families and school personnel
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Active Special Education certification issued by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE)
- Experience managing an elementary special education caseload
- Strong understanding of resource room services and elementary education practices
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
Schedule and location details:
- Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
- Monday through Friday, 8:45 a.m. to 4:40 p.m.
- Based in a North Kansas City elementary school in Lees Summit, Missouri
