Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Representative to lead business development efforts in the US market, specifically targeting higher education institutions, online course providers, publishers, and ed-tech companies. The ideal candidate will have experience selling content services, curriculum development, instructional design, and SME-led services. This role will focus on building relationships, closing deals, and driving outsourcing opportunities for our client's educational support services.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Lead Generation

Identify and engage higher education institutions, online learning providers, publishers, and K-12 organizations that require outsourced content development, grading, instructional design, and quality assurance services.

Develop and execute lead generation strategies, including outbound outreach, networking, and leveraging industry events.

Work with leadership to refine target market segments and identify strategic outsourcing opportunities.
Sales & Revenue Growth

Own the end-to-end sales process—from prospecting, needs assessment, and solution positioning to closing and contract negotiation.

Drive sales of outsourced SME-based services such as grading, accessibility, instructional design, curriculum development, and editorial services.

Build multi-year contracts with publishers and institutions, focusing on scalability and long-term partnerships.
Client Relationship Management

Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, including academic directors, instructional designers, and procurement managers at higher education institutions and ed-tech companies.

Conduct client presentations and demos, effectively communicating value proposition and outsourcing advantages.

Serve as the point of contact for potential and existing clients, ensuring a seamless transition from sales to service delivery.
Strategic Partnerships & Market Expansion

Collaborate with internal teams (delivery, SMEs, and product development) to create customized solutions tailored to client needs.

Stay informed about industry trends, particularly the outsourcing landscape in education technology and content development.

Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities within existing accounts.
Key Qualifications
Experience & Skills

5+ years of experience in sales, business development, or account management in ed-tech, publishing, e-learning, or content development services.

Proven track record of closing B2B deals, preferably in content services, curriculum design, or academic support outsourcing.

Strong understanding of higher education institutions, publishers, and K-12 ed-tech platforms.

Experience working with outsourcing models and selling to decision-makers in education.

Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.

Ability to manage complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications

Existing network in the education sector (universities, community colleges, ed-tech platforms, and publishing companies).

Familiarity with outsourcing contracts, vendor agreements, and service-level agreements (SLAs).
