We’re seeking a Medical Assistant who’s passionate about supporting adolescents through one of the most important times in their lives. In this role, you’ll be part of a residential treatment program for teens ages 12–17 who are working through mental health challenges, eating disorders, and substance abuse recovery.

As a key member of our care team, you’ll work closely with therapists, psychiatrists, and educators to provide compassionate medical and emotional support. Every shift offers a chance to help young people heal, grow, and rebuild confidence.

Medical Assistant – Adolescent Mental Health Program

Location: Commerce, CA
Pay: $17.82/hour base rate
Average Pay (with Overtime): $20.79/hour
Schedule: 12-hour shifts | Full-Time | Long-Term Career Opportunity

What You’ll Do

  • Collect and record vital signs and perform drug screenings at intake and scheduled intervals.
  • Administer and document medications in line with physician orders and facility policies.
  • Provide one-on-one supervision for clients with elevated safety or behavioral risks.
  • Observe and monitor client behavior; report updates and concerns to supervisors and treatment staff.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and daily shift logs.
  • Coordinate medical appointments with outside providers.
  • Support a positive, therapeutic environment that promotes client safety and progress.
  • Participate in ongoing training and team development.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Certified Medical Assistant from an accredited program
  • One (1) year of related experience in healthcare or behavioral health
  • CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Ability to pass background and fingerprint clearance

Preferred:

  • Experience working with adolescents (ages 12–17)
  • Crisis management and dual diagnosis knowledge
