JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor to join our team. This role will be responsible for supervising staff and senior accountants, maintaining the accuracy of financial records, and supporting key accounting functions. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with a strong background in accounting and team management.
ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Personally exhibits, recruits, and coaches associates consistent with Core Behaviors
- Promotes a culture of safety within the department
- Oversee daily activities of staff and senior accountants, facilitating timely and accurate task completion
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activity to verify accurate transaction recording and adequate supporting documentation
- Contribute to the monthly close process, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations, in accordance with GAAP
- Act as a liaison for operations teams on accounting-related matters, providing guidance and technical support
- Assist with interim and year-end financial audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries
- Support sales tax audits and compliance activities
- Coordinate tax payment schedules and monitor filing deadlines to maintain compliance
- Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and support the implementation of best practices
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience
- At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory or team lead role
- Solid understanding of general accounting principles
- Experience with foreign currency transactions and translation processes
- Familiarity with ERP systems; prior experience with Epicor Prophet 21 is highly desirable
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct supervisory responsibility
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting REQUIRED
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- None required
- CPA designation preferred
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Employee is regularly required to speak and understand English, stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms. Employee is required to use a computer and other equipment.
- Employee frequently lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to clearly focus.
