Stephens College invites applications for part-time (adjunct) instructors for the following clinical opportunities:


We have rotations in:

  • Maternity
  • Pediatrics
  • Mental Health
  • Medical-surgical

Maternity and Pediatric rotations are direct supervision on Tuesday and Wednesday, 8 hours per day over 4 weeks. Mental Health/Psychiatric nursing rotation is three days per week over two weeks.


In addition to making student patient assignments and supervision in the clinical areas, the instructor will have additional course expectations including personal and student orientation, course grading, meetings, and assessments at other times.


Requirements:

The successful candidate will:

Teach the acute care portion of the course clinical setting in coordination with the Course leader using existing course materials and LMS.


Requirements:

  1. Current, active RN license or privilege to practice in Missouri without disciplinary action in the state of Missouri.
  2. B.S. in Nursing and enrollment in a graduate nursing program.
  3. Two to three years clinical experience.
  4. Completion of the AHA Clinical Faculty Academy or prior nursing education experience. Follow the link for more information: https://web.mhanet.com/workforce-overview/training/
  5. Desire to teach clinical nursing.
  6. Excellent communication skills.
  7. Work collaboratively with the education team.
  8. Represent the values of the program and the college.

Highly Desired:

  1. M.S. in Nursing from an Accredited College or University.
  2. Experience teaching at the collegiate or university level.
