Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to join a leading construction client of ours. This role is critical in promoting a safe and healthy work environment while driving continuous improvement of EHS systems across multiple construction sites. The ideal candidate will be highly collaborative, hands-on, and committed to ensuring full regulatory compliance while fostering a strong culture of safety.
This position reports directly to the Senior Safety & Risk Manager. It will work closely with field personnel, journeymen, service technicians, and project-level leads to integrate safety standards and procedures into daily operations.
LOCATION - Salinas, CA
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine safety assessments and inspections of active construction projects to ensure compliance with internal policies, site-specific safety plans, and all applicable laws and regulations.
- Promote and improve proactive “safety leading measures” across all projects.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop, implement, and maintain environmental, safety, and security policies and procedures.
- Identify and implement opportunities to reduce workplace injuries, accidents, and health hazards.
- Assist in developing Method of Procedure (MOP) and critical activity plans with the Safety & Risk Manager.
- Lead investigations of safety-related incidents (injuries, accidents, spills, vandalism, property damage, etc.) and prepare written reports with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Deliver safety and compliance training to supervisors and field employees as directed.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation of site visits, training sessions, and incident reports.
- Act as the on-site “Competent Person” with the authority to stop unsafe operations or conditions.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
