BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
2+ years of experience as a machinist or completion of a machinist
2+ apprenticeship program
Proficiency in operating various machine tools including lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, and CNC machines Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications Strong understanding of machining principles including geometry, trigonometry, and metallurgy Excellent hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and attention to detail Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively High School Diploma or GED required
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Set up and operate machine tools to fabricate parts and components Perform machining operations such as turning, milling, drilling, and grinding Inspect and test finished parts to ensure quality and precision Troubleshoot and repair machinery and equipment as needed Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols Collaborate with engineers and technicians to resolve technical issues Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
Experience with CAD/CAM software and programming languages (G-code, M-code) Knowledge of quality control procedures and inspection techniques Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies Journeyman machinist certification or equivalent
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Accredited High School Diploma or Equivalent
