Position Overview
This is an opportunity for an Electrical Engineer who wants to work on projects that directly impact how students learn, collaborate, and grow across Texas communities. In this role, you will lead the design and coordination of electrical systems for K-12 schools, higher education campuses, and educational support facilities—helping shape environments that serve thousands of students, educators, and communities statewide.

Core Responsibilities
- Lead the design and coordination of electrical systems for K-12 and higher education facilities, including power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, fire alarm systems, and low-voltage infrastructure
- Develop engineering calculations, system layouts, specifications, and construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD
- Coordinate closely with Mechanical, Electrical, & Plumbing (MEP), architectural, and structural teams to deliver integrated project solutions
- Manage project schedules, technical deliverables, and client expectations across multiple concurrent assignments
- Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and coordination discussions with school districts, colleges, universities, and project stakeholders
- Review shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and field conditions to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and design intent
- Conduct site visits and provide construction-phase support throughout project execution
- Mentor junior engineers, designers, and EITs while contributing to overall team development and technical quality
- Support QA/QC processes to maintain consistency, accuracy, and constructability across all deliverables
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
- Experience: 5+ years of electrical engineering experience within an MEP consulting environment
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of building electrical systems, power distribution, lighting systems, emergency power, and fire alarm design
- Software: Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and applicable engineering analysis software
- Project Coordination: Experience managing and coordinating projects within multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Communication: Strong client-facing communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or active pursuit of licensure
- Experience designing K-12, higher education, or institutional facilities in Texas
- Familiarity with Texas school district standards and educational facility design requirements
- Experience with construction administration, field coordination, and client presentations
- Background participating in long-term client relationships and repeat-project delivery environments
