Entry Level Machine Operator – $18.17–$19.17/hour – Wilmington, NC
Full Time | 12 Hour Rotating Schedule | 3 Days On / 3 Days Off

Employment Solutions is hiring Entry Level Machine Operators for a large manufacturing facility in Wilmington, NC. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to get started in manufacturing with on the job training and long term growth potential.

Machine Operators work on a production line manufacturing engineered wood products. Team members rotate between several positions on the line and are responsible for monitoring production flow, inspecting materials, and keeping the line running smoothly.

Pay:
Day Shift: $18.17/hour
Night Shift: $19.17/hour

Schedule:
12 hour shifts
7:00 AM – 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

3 days on, 3 days off rotation
Employees rotate between day shift and night shift each month

Break schedule includes:
Two 20 minute breaks before lunch
One 30 minute lunch
Two 20 minute breaks after lunch

Work Environment:
Fast paced industrial manufacturing facility
Production floor is not climate controlled
Employees work at designated stations along a conveyor system that runs the length of the mill

What You Will Do:
Monitor materials moving along a production conveyor
Inspect veneer sheets for quality and remove damaged pieces
Replace defective sheets with quality materials
Assist with keeping the production line running smoothly
Clear minor jams and help maintain steady material flow
Operate basic machine controls as trained
Stack and sort rejected materials
Maintain a clean and safe work area around the production line

Employees rotate between positions during the shift which may include feeding materials onto the line, monitoring product quality, and assisting the primary machine operator.

Physical Requirements:
Lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs
Stand for extended periods of time
Frequent bending and reaching
Veneer sheets weigh approximately 9–12 lbs and may be lifted above shoulder height

Requirements
Ability to work a rotating day and night shift schedule
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment without air conditioning
Ability to remain alert and safety focused in a production environment

Additional Information
Candidates must complete a pre employment physical exam, which will be coordinated by the employer.
