Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department night shift position at a major teaching hospital, requiring a GA or compact RN license and ED experience.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a large, urban Level 1 Trauma Center Emergency Department with 61+ beds
  • Patient population includes trauma, chest pain, stroke, mental health, and medical emergencies
  • Typical RN assignment is a 1:4 ratio depending on zone
  • Utilizes Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and Philips monitors
  • 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, with a 6-week schedule cycle
  • Weekend rotation requires 5-6 weekend shifts in a 6-week period
  • No on-call or floating outside the ER required
  • Holiday coverage is expected for 75% of major holidays
  • Deliver advanced emergency nursing care to a diverse and high-acuity patient population
  • Work with a supportive team including CNAs, techs, charge nurse, 24/7 respiratory therapy, hospitalist, and intensivist coverage
  • Centralized telemetry monitoring in the ER
  • Department utilizes specialized equipment such as vital signs monitors, PCA, bladder scanners, rapid infuser, bearhugger, and more
  • 2-day unit-specific and 1-day facility orientation provided
  • Navy scrubs required for RNs
  • Free parking is available on campus

\n \n Requirements\n

  • Active GA or compact RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience required
  • Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC
  • Must pass EKG competency (Basic Cardiac Rhythm) exam
  • Epic EMR charting experience required
  • Experience with drips including heparin, insulin, Cardene, dopamine, epinephrine, fentanyl, propofol, and levophed
  • First-time travelers are accepted
