We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join a non-profit organization in Chattanooga, Tennessee. In this contract position, you will play a critical role in managing financial records and ensuring accuracy in accounting processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and proficient in Sage and Excel.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Process invoices, payments, and other transactions in a timely manner.
• Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure all accounts are balanced and accurate.
• Utilize QuickBooks to manage and track financial data effectively.
• Generate financial reports and summaries for management review.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities as needed.
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial statements or transactions.
• Support audits by providing necessary documentation and record.

• Proven experience in bookkeeping, preferably within a non-profit organization.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Ability to perform accurate bank reconciliations.

• High level of attention to detail and accuracy in financial tasks.
• Familiarity with financial reporting and compliance standards.
