Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time leadership role is available for a Director of Pharmacy at a hospital located in Yorktown, VA. This position oversees the delivery of pharmaceutical and clinical pharmacy services, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while promoting operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily pharmacy operations through supervision of department supervisors and staff, driving continuous improvement in quality, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure comprehensive training, performance feedback, and ongoing development for all direct reports to achieve departmental objectives.
- Develop and implement departmental goals aligned with standards including Joint Commission, DOH, and Board of Pharmacy requirements.
- Manage budget recommendations for capital equipment and operational expenses while projecting departmental revenues.
- Serve on hospital committees and communicate pharmacy policies effectively across hospital staff.
- Maintain systems for authorized prescriber signatures and proper requisitioning and dispensing of pharmaceutical supplies.
- Perform all duties of a Staff Pharmacist, supporting clinical and operational pharmacy activities.
Qualifications:
- Current state pharmacist licensure required.
- Minimum of three years hospital pharmacy experience within the past five years.
- Demonstrated ability to efficiently operate a pharmacy within a healthcare setting.
- Preferred: At least one year in a managerial or leadership role.
