Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Provide critical care nursing expertise in a fast-paced Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), delivering life-saving interventions and compassionate patient care. This contract nursing role is ideal for experienced RNs skilled in CVICU settings, ready to work closely with multidisciplinary teams managing complex cardiac patients, including those on advanced life support devices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and care for critically ill patients, maintaining patient ratios typically ranging from 1:1 to 2:1.
- Perform specialized procedures such as intubation and cannulation.
- Manage advanced equipment including ventilators, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), Impella devices, and ECMO.
- Maintain accurate patient records using Meditech Expanse EMR.
- Collaborate with a dynamic team to provide high-quality cardiac ICU care.
- Adhere to unit protocols and ICARE values, supporting a safe and respectful patient environment.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current RN license with proven experience in Cardiovascular ICU (CV-ICU) settings.
- Certification in BLS and ACLS is mandatory.
- Familiarity with Impella and ECMO technology is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work flexibly, showing upbeat and adaptable personality traits.
- Minimum commitment to 4 weekend shifts per month.
Schedule and Location:
- Based in Richmond, Texas, situated within a leading medical centers South Tower on Floor 3 (CVICU).
- Staffing includes 14 RNs (day/night shifts), 1 Charge nurse, and 1 tech per shift.
- Operating a 22-bed CVICU unit offering advanced cardiac critical care.
