Job Title: Account Manager
Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Range: $26.25 – $28.00 per hour (approximately $54,600 annually)
Job Summary
The Account Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of key client accounts, serving as the primary point of contact, and building strong, long-term relationships to drive customer satisfaction and business growth. The ideal candidate will have a proven record of success in account management, strong communication and negotiation skills, and a customer-focused mindset committed to delivering exceptional client experiences.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, serving as the main point of contact for all account-related matters
- Gain a thorough understanding of clients’ business objectives, challenges, and needs to deliver customized solutions
- Collaborate with internal teams—including sales, marketing, and product development—to align strategies that support client success and growth
- Identify and pursue opportunities to upsell or cross-sell additional products and services
- Monitor account performance and key performance indicators (KPIs); analyze data and prepare regular reports to measure progress and identify improvement opportunities
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely delivery of products and services and prompt resolution of client concerns
- Stay informed on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activity to identify opportunities and mitigate risks
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve mutually beneficial agreements
- Attend client meetings, presentations, and industry events as required
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions, agreements, and transactions within CRM systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in account management or sales, with demonstrated success
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation and negotiation abilities
- Ability to understand client needs and develop tailored business solutions
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or collaboratively
- Proficiency in CRM platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, and standard business tools
- Industry-specific experience may be required depending on business needs (e.g., software, manufacturing, or technical sales)
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Frequent kneeling, squatting, bending, stooping, twisting, and overhead reaching with repetitive motions
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Regular exposure to allergens, including milk, eggs, fish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, and soybeans
- Regular use of office equipment such as computers, calculators, and copy machines
- Work performed in both office and laboratory environments
- Potential exposure to hazardous materials; adherence to safety protocols is required
- Occasional travel for conferences, fieldwork, or collaboration with other facilities
