Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift contract requiring a current MI RN license and advanced certifications.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a 6-bed Emergency Department within a hospital setting
  • Patient population averages a daily census of 20 with a 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio
  • Possible float to Medical/Surgical unit may be required
  • 12-hour night shifts, including rotating weekends and holidays (typically every 3rd)
  • Use of Epic EMR, Pyxis medication management, GE bedside cardiac monitors and telemetry, Alaris Infusion Systems, Cisco and Responder 5 communication devices, Maxi Sky patient lifts, and LifePak
  • Training provided on EMR, Pyxis, GE monitors, and Alaris pumps
  • Must live outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
  • Responsibilities include patient care based on critical thinking and integrating interpersonal, physiological, and psychosocial knowledge
  • Must adhere to department dress code with professional uniforms and proper identification badges
  • During flu season, travelers who opt out of flu and COVID vaccination must wear a mask at all times as per Aspirus policy
  • Eligible for up to 36 hours of low census
  • May be required to respond to call back with a 2-hour minimum

\n \n Requirements\n

  • Active MI RN license required
  • Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and PALS required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent ED nursing experience required
  • Competency in aseptic procedures, patient monitoring (including EKG, invasive pressure, BP, SaO2), drug dose calculation and administration, and management of tubes, endotracheal and tracheostomy care, and mechanical ventilation
  • Clinical competency in conscious sedation is required
