Overview
Shriners Children’s Boston has an exciting opportunity for a PRN Medical Assistant to join our Outpatient Clinic team!
In this role, you’ll support our medical and nursing staff in providing compassionate, family-centered care to infants, toddlers, preschoolers, adolescents, and young adults. You’ll play a key part in the patient intake process — collecting vital information such as medical history, height and weight, vital signs, allergies, medications, and previous procedures — helping our team deliver the best possible care to every child.

The pay range for this position is $20.55-$30.84/hourly. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity.
Responsibilities
- The Medical Assistant assists in rooming patients, taking vital signs, measurements, preparation of exam rooms, stocking supplies, assisting the physician, interacting with other departments and documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Assists providers, nursing and other health care professionals with procedures and the intake and depart processes.
- Accurately documents information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Responsible for prepping clinic to be prepared for that day's clinic to include monitoring supplies and equipment and ordering supplies.
- Utilizes good clinical judgement to identify problems and interventions with patients and families and referral to RN as needed.

Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma / GED
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Two years' healthcare setting experience
Preferred:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
- Two years' experience as a Medical Assistant
- Two years' telemedicine experience
- Bilongual English/Spanish
- American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
