Full-Time Middle School Science Teacher

American Heritage School is seeking a Full-Time Middle School Science Teacher. This position offers the opportunity to inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of scientific discovery in students while working in a supportive, faith-based educational environment.

Candidates should have a minimum of two years' teaching experience, preferably in a formal middle school setting. A bachelor's degree or equivalent is required. Successful applicants will demonstrate an enduring love of youth, a love of teaching and learning, and a desire to work in a faith-based atmosphere aligned with the values taught by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Strong candidates will also exhibit excellent communication and classroom management skills, high energy, professionalism, and a willingness to continually learn and grow as an educator.

The Middle School Science Teacher will be responsible for preparing and delivering daily lesson plans, establishing and communicating clear learning objectives, and using a variety of instructional strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners. The teacher will create a classroom environment that is safe, respectful, engaging, and academically rigorous. Responsibilities also include assessing student learning, providing timely and constructive feedback, maintaining accurate records, and communicating effectively with parents and school administration.

Candidates should be professional in appearance and demeanor and be willing and able to uphold and serve as ambassadors for the AHS Mission, Honor Code, and Diversity Statement, both on and off campus. Participation in faculty meetings, professional development, school events, and collaborative planning is expected.

In addition to the job requirements listed above, applicants are encouraged to include in their application any interest they have in helping with AHS extracurricular athletics programs. Please note any experience you have as a player or a coach in specific sports. American Heritage School prefers to fill extracurricular athletics coaching openings with employees (teachers, aides, etc.) who also have the skills and interest to contribute to athletic programs.
