Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into a contract opportunity supporting middle school learners in a specialized setting for 5th–8th grade students. You’ll work with a small caseload of 8–12 students as a Special Education Teacher, leveraging your expertise in Strat II: ID programming and alternate assessment. Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification with endorsement in Strat II: ID (Intellectual Disabilities)
- Prior experience or coursework focused on alternate assessment administration
- Familiarity with IEP development, goal setting, and progress monitoring for students with moderate to severe disabilities
- Excellent organizational, communication, and collaborative problem-solving skills
- Commitment to inclusive practices and individualized instruction
Main Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) for students in 5th–8th grades requiring special education services
- Utilize alternate assessments to monitor student progress and guide instructional planning
- Create a safe, engaging classroom atmosphere that fosters student independence and life skills
- Work closely with paraprofessionals, general education teachers, and related service providers
- Maintain clear communication with families and actively participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary teams
- Adapt instructional materials and strategies to best meet diverse student needs
