Now Hiring: Pastry Sous Chef
In this role, you’ll be responsible for assisting the Pastry team in the success of all bake shop operations, assuring the proper preparation of all baked items for the Resort's restaurants, food, and beverage outlets, with a focus on the day-to-day pastry production and operations. Acts as second-in-command, ensuring smooth operations and consistent standards when the Executive Pastry Chef is away.
Weekends, evenings, and holiday availability are a must.
Salary Range - up to $85,000
What You’ll Do:
- Works with the pastry team to produce quality pastries and service.
- Use proper procedures and techniques for the creation of attractive, professional pastry items.
- Inspect all bakery items upon completion to ensure they have been prepared correctly and attractively.
What We’re Looking For:
- We require a background of at least 2-3 years of progressive pastry experience with 1-2 years of bake shop management experience, preferably in a large volume environment such as a multi-unit hotel or resort.
- Basic knowledge of P&L, food cost/inventory management, recipe costing, kitchen sanitation, and food safety regulations.
- Prior experience across multiple pastry mediums; bread making, sugar artistry, cake design, etc.
- Prior BEO experience is preferred.
