The primary role of a Phlebotomist III is to assist with various duties, troubleshoot issues, provide training, and recommend workflow improvements. This position involves performing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging, recording maintenance data, decontaminating, and updating patient information.

Responsibilities

  • Perform blood draws using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
  • Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
  • Explain venipuncture and other specimen collection processes clearly and courteously.
  • Fully understand and execute all physicians' orders.
  • Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
  • Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
  • Verify all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts for accuracy.
  • Package specimens for transport and store them at required temperatures.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in phlebotomy, blood draw, venipuncture, and specimen collection.
  • At least 2-3 years of recent phlebotomy experience.
  • Experience working with all age groups from pediatric to geriatric.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Experience with 30+ patient draws per day.
  • Phlebotomy certification.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.

Work Environment

The primary work location is at the IOP Account - Comprehensive Internal Medicine at 3890 Johns Creek Pkwy #120, Suwanee, GA. You will also be required to cover at the Alpharetta location at 3180 North Point Pkwy, Suite 303, when needed. Training will occur at the LC PSC - 4275 Johns Creek Pkwy Ste B, Suwanee, GA. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Suwanee, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
