Job Purpose:
The Lead Technician is responsible for supervising installation teams and ensuring successful deployment of Nurse Call and healthcare low-voltage systems. This role requires advanced technical expertise, jobsite leadership, and strong customer facing communication. Lead Technicians mentor Level I, Level II, and Technician personnel, ensure quality control through testing and documentation, and serve as the client liaison in the absence of project management. The salary range for this position is $37 - $40 an hour based on education, experience, and other relevant factors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform installation tasks for healthcare projects including pulling cable, installing connectors, labeling wires and devices, and headend setup
- Test full functionality of systems to verify quality and performance
- Mentor Level I, Level II, and Technician personnel, providing training and technical guidance
- Provide on-site supervision of installation teams under direction from the Project Manager or Superintendent
- Perform client training on system operation as required
- Identify and communicate change order opportunities
- Act as customer liaison in the absence of the Project Manager or Superintendent
- Create and maintain as-builts and all job documentation including IP addresses, MAC addresses, and related records
- Demonstrate leadership and professionalism on the jobsite
- Communicate effectively with general contractors, clients, and internal stakeholders
- Apply advanced computer skills including Email, MS Office Suite, company applications, and networking concepts (IP addresses, subnets, servers, etc.)
- Thoroughly understand low-voltage installation considerations and techniques
- Proficiently use Microsoft Office Suite or related software for documentation and reporting
- Maintain strong attention to detail and organizational skills on projects
- Apply excellent problem-solving skills to technical and installation challenges
- Follow highly complex directions accurately and consistently
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication in all work environments
- Safely operate power-actuated tools including hammers, drills, and saws
- Correctly identify wires using full-spectrum color recognition
- Overnight travel as required

Required Skills & Abilities:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience and completion of Technician requirements, or equivalent knowledge
- Proven ability to supervise installation teams and mentor junior personnel
- Experience testing, commissioning, and documenting Nurse Call and healthcare low-voltage systems
- Ability to train clients on system functionality and provide professional customer support
- Strong knowledge of as-built documentation and system recordkeeping
- Advanced computer proficiency and networking knowledge (IP, subnets, servers)
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with clients, contractors, and employees
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks
- Thorough understanding of low-voltage installation considerations and techniques
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving ability
- Ability to follow complex technical directions consistently
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and power-actuated equipment
- Ability to see a full spectrum of color for proper wire identification
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites
Education, License and Experience:
- High School Diploma or approved equivalent.
- Holds an OSHA 30 certification as well as thorough knowledge of guidelines covering the NEC and TIA/EIA standards.
- Ongoing involvement and training through Beacons training programs
- Responder Field Design
- Advanced UL1069
Physical Requirements:
- Requires sitting, prolonged standing, walking, handling, gripping, pushing, pulling, and reaching over head with force. Also requires stooping, crouching, crawling on knees and work along floors/sub floors.
- Ability to physically transport ladders up to 12 feet in height and lift ladders off vehicle roof racks. Must be willing and able to climb and stand on ladders and scaffolding.
- Frequently lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds, sometimes overhead.
- Maintain a clear background check to satisfy customer jobsite badging requirements.
- Willing to submit to all vaccinations and screening tests required for customer jobsite badging protocol.
- Maintain a clear drug and alcohol screening protocol.
- Maintain a valid Drivers License.
Travel Requirements:
- 20-50% travel in Rocky Mountain region, as needed.
