Integrated Healthcare Services is seeking a travel Surgical Technologist for a travel job in Miles City, Montana.

Job Summary:

• Performs various duties as a member of the surgical team to ensure a safe and successful operative procedure.
• This position functions under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and directly reports to Surgical Services management.
• It is expected that Surgery Tech will support system wide and surgical operations initiatives and practices.
• In addition, this person will actively participate in the surgical operations safety plan as outlined.

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintains accountability for ensuring the operating room and all surgical items meet sterilization criteria.
• Maintains the sterile field and ensures a safe environment.
• Recognizes and addresses sharps and fire safety processes.
• Prepares the operating room and instruments for the surgical procedure.
• May assist with sterile processing.
• Assists the surgeon(s) during the procedure while staying within the ORT scope of practice.
• Can identify emergency situations and exercises judgement when implementing procedures to respond to emergencies.
• Assists with room turnover, cleaning, and preparation for the next procedure upon completion of the procedure.

• Demonstrates the ability to maintain a sterile field and ensure environmental safety.
• Demonstrates the ability to recognize and address sharps and fire safety processes.
• Demonstrates knowledge of surgical services.
• Demonstrates knowledge of sterile processing.
• Demonstrates the ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations.
• Has experience in surgeries support within the surgical team.
• Has experience in life support situations related to surgical care.
• Has experience in sterile field management.
• Has experience in sterilization processes and requirements.
• Has experience in supervision within surgical services (within ORT scope).

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• N/A

Required Education:

• Completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician (ORT) program.

OR

• Graduated from a non-accredited surgical tech program within the past Six (6) months (not eligible for Tech in Surgery exam).

OR

• Two (2) years of scrub tech experience in hospital/military surgical services within the last Three (3) years.

Preferred Education:

• N/A

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.

Preferred Certifications & Licensure:

• Active National Certification as an ORT in Surgery.

OR

• Certified Surgical Technologist.
