Job Title: MRI Tech
Location: Cooperstown, NY
Shift: Days, 8Hx5
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Travel Pay:$3,730/week
Stipend:$1,250/week
Taxable:$2,480/week
OT:$91/hour
Local Pay:$88/hour
Gross Weekly Pay:$3,520/week
OT:$132/hour
PLUS++
Travel Reimbursement: $200 (Paid with 1st Paycheck)
Completion Bonus:$300 (Paid with Last Paycheck)
Requirements:
- BLS from AHA
- ARRT (MR)
Job Description:
Equipment & Environment
- Scanners: Philips 3T and 1.5T (5.7 software)
- Scanners covered by traveler: 1
- Setting: Inpatient and Outpatient
- Average scans/shift: 7–11
- PACS/RIS: Change Healthcare Radiology Solutions (McKesson) / Epic RIS
Exam Types & Skill Expectations
- Most Common Studies: Neuro, MSK, Abdomen, Breast, MRA/MRV, General MRI
- Advanced Studies Required: Yes (Traveler will not perform Cardiac MRI)
- Contrast Administration: Required
- IV Starts: Not required
- Pediatric Imaging: Required
Workflow & Autonomy
- Radiologist coverage: On-site and remote reading
- Patient screening: MRI Technologist responsible
- Patient transport: Hospital transport team
Schedule & Coverage
- Call:
o 6:00 am – 3:00 pm (Sat/Sun)
o 4–5 weekends during a 13-week assignment - Holidays: Required if it falls during call week
Support StaƯ
- Sedation cases: MRI Tech and Nurse
- Cross-coverage: No CT or X-ray coverage if volume is low
Certifications & Experience Requirements
- Required: ARRT (MR) and BLS
- ARRT (R) only: Not accepted — must hold MRI certification
- New York state license: Not require
