Job Summary
Creative Video Editor wanted to bring our music, media, and storytelling to life through sharp, impactful editing. Sumerian is looking for a skilled and imaginative Video Editor to craft compelling visual content across our music, media, and entertainment brands. You’ll work on everything from artist promos and trailers to branded content, social clips, and behind-the-scenes features. You should be fluent in storytelling through motion, able to cut across styles and formats while maintaining high production value and energy. This role demands speed, creativity, and a deep understanding of what connects with digital audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Video Editing & Post Production: Edit short- and long-form video content for a variety of platforms including social media, web, streaming, and internal channels—crafting sharp, emotionally resonant edits that grab attention and tell a story.
- Creative Collaboration: Work closely with producers, designers, and creatives from concept through final cut—contributing ideas, refining edits, and ensuring alignment with project goals and brand vision.
- Content Versatility: Cut a wide range of assets including music videos, trailers, behind-the-scenes features, social teasers, artist content, branded campaigns, promotional sizzles, and live event recaps.
- Platform Optimization: Tailor edits for specific formats and aspect ratios (Reels, Stories, YouTube, TikTok, etc.) while maintaining impact and clarity across devices.
- Visual Consistency & Brand Tone: Uphold a cohesive visual and narrative style across projects—matching the energy, attitude, and aesthetic of Sumerian’s entertainment universe.
- Deadline-Driven Workflow: Manage multiple edits simultaneously, stay organized, and deliver high-quality cuts on fast-moving timelines with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional video editing experience.
- Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro (After Effects, Photoshop, DaVinci Resolve a plus).
- Strong storytelling instincts, with a portfolio that showcases range and creativity.
- Fast turnaround times and ability to juggle multiple projects.
- Passion for music, culture, and digital video trends.
- Must reside in the Nashville Tennessee area.
