Procurement Specialist - US Distribution

Location: Columbus, OH (On-site preferred with hybrid flexibility)
We are currently supporting a global logistics and supply chain partner with deep roots in the fashion, lifestyle, and e-commerce sectors, who serve some of the world’s most recognized brands. With another major expansion in the U.S. market, their new flagship facility in Ohio, is positioned as a strategic distribution hub for their North American operations.
We are therefore seeking a Procurement Specialist on an initial 3-6 month contract to manage sourcing and supplier operations for their US distribution network, with a focus on launching and optimizing a new 400,000+ sq. ft. facility.
This role is essential in setting up scalable procurement processes, selecting regional suppliers, and supporting the U.S. distribution ramp-up with a hands-on, operations-aligned approach.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience in distribution or 3PL procurement, strong vendor negotiation skills, and ideally a background in the apparel or fashion industry. Hands-on experience launching or stabilizing new logistics sites (greenfield or brownfield) is also highly desired.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead procurement for US distribution, including warehousing supplies, packaging, MHE, facility maintenance, IT hardware, and temporary labor
- Identify, vet, and negotiate with local and national vendors to support facility launch and operational readiness
- Collaborate with site leadership, operations, finance, and HR to align on procurement needs and timelines
- Set up U.S.-specific procurement systems and policies aligned with global frameworks
- Optimize cost and performance while ensuring service reliability across all spend categories
- Monitor supplier performance, enforce SLAs, and proactively manage risk
- Deliver reporting and visibility on spend, contracts, and key procurement KPIs
Experience & Skills
- Procurement or sourcing experience within distribution, warehousing, 3PL, or supply chain sectors
- Hands-on experience launching or stabilizing new logistics sites (greenfield or brownfield)
- Strong vendor negotiation and contract execution experience across indirect and operational categories
- Apparel, lifestyle, or retail industry experience is a strong plus
- Familiarity with procurement and ERP systems (e.g., Coupa, SAP, Oracle)
- Ability to work cross-functionally and thrive in a dynamic, scaling environment
- Bachelor’s degree required; supply chain or procurement certification a plus (CPSM, CIPS, etc.)
