Job DescriptionLocum OBGYN Opportunity Near Daisytown, PA
We are seeking a locum OBGYN to begin as soon as possible for an ongoing position near Daisytown, PA. A Pennsylvania medical license is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 24-hour call coverage from 7 AM to 7 AM.
- First call will be managed by a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM).
- Work primarily in an inpatient setting.
- Utilize a beeper system for call management.
- Perform and interpret various obstetric procedures, including:
- Low and high-risk pregnancy management
- Fetal heart rate interpretation (NST/CST/FSE)
- OB ultrasounds (performance and interpretation)
- Amniocentesis
- Vaginal deliveries and low forceps assistance
- Decision-making for cesarean sections
- Management of complicated deliveries (including C-sections, multiple births, abruptions, and VBACs)
- Repair of third and fourth-degree lacerations
- Minor gynecological procedures (IUD placements, cystoscopy, colposcopy, cryosurgery, LEEP, etc.)
- Open and laparoscopic diagnostic/minor surgeries (tubal ligation, LOA's, chromopertubation)
- Operative/major procedures (ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal, cystectomy, extensive LOA's)
- Laser certification for surgical procedures
- Routine deliveries and surgical gynecology
- Average annual deliveries: 1,590.
Qualifications
- Completion of a fellowship is required.
- Certifications needed: ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS.
- Must hold a valid Pennsylvania license or be part of the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC).
- Experience in a Level 1 Trauma center is preferred.
- Familiarity with EMR systems, specifically Epic.
- Credentialing process takes approximately 14 days.
