Founded in 2008, J C Porter Construction is a Baltimore based General Contractor providing quality construction, design-build services & construction management for public, private and nonprofit enterprises. J C Porter is one of the leading full-service general contractors in the Mid-Atlantic region.
J C Porter Construction is interested in hiring a qualified Project Manager to oversee commercial construction projects. A J C Porter Construction Manager is responsible for assisting in the development of new business opportunities and strengthening existing customer relationships.
Responsibilities include:
· Interpret and explain budget and scope of work with client
· Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions
· Schedule each project in logical steps
· Read and interpret contract documents to ensure that all facets of the work are performed accordingly
· Manage day-to-day activities to ensure that project milestones and overall completion dates are met in accordance with contract requirements
· Work with on-site superintendent to coordinate and schedule subcontractors in an orderly fashion to meet the contract requirements
· Prepare and submit requests for information, change orders, submittals, and progress schedules to the client
· Communicate effectively with the subcontractors and client
· Administer client and company specific programs such as Safety Plans
· Maintain daily paperwork such as time sheets, daily field reports, email correspondences, and schedule updates with superintendent.
· Review and approve subcontractor invoices for the projects
Qualifications:
· A working knowledge of civil, structural, architectural, electrical, and mechanical work
· Able to read and interpret construction drawings
· At least five (5) years of Project Manager experience in commercial construction
· Self-starter, Proactive, and Schedule Oriented
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office required (Word, Excel, Project)
· Able to provide own transportation
· Salary commensurate with experience

J C Porter Construction Project Managers typically run multiple jobs at a time. Crews work 40 hours per week, some off hours depending on scheduling.
