NSCS is looking for a Family Partner to join our In Home Therapy Team! As a Family Partner, you will provide a structured one-to-one strength-based support to a Parent/Caregiver of a youth qualifying for Department of Mental Health (DMH) Flex Supports The DMH Flex Family Partner delivers peer-to-peer education, coaching, modeling, and guidance to a Parent/Caregiver of a youth diagnosed with a SED for the purpose of addressing the youth’s emotional and behavioral needs. This is accomplished by enhancing parenting capacity and increasing access to natural community resources to enable the Parent/Caregiver to successfully support youth’s needs.

This position is designed for someone with lived experience as a parent or direct caregiver of a youth in their family with significant social, emotional, behavioral health, medical or trauma-related needs.

This position is currently a hybrid position: community visits and remote work, contingent on family preference.

What you’ll do:

  • Assists the Parent/Caregiver in meeting the youth’s needs by educating, supporting, coaching, modeling or guiding. These activities are delivered in the Parent/Caregiver’s home and community.
  • Assists the Parent/Caregiver in addressing one or more goals on the youth’s treatment plan created by the DMH Clinical service.
  • Fosters empowerment and encourages Parent/Caregiver to take active leadership roles within the treatment of youth
  • Partners with Parent/Caregiver to develop and create realistic indicators for the Transition Indicator tool.
  • Shares lived experience with Parent/Caregiver to build rapport, engage and inspire the Parent/Caregiver towards improving parental care of youth.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures governing Client rights and confidentiality.
  • On-call responsibilities.

What you’ll need:

  • Education
    • Associates degree in a human service field and one year of related experience with target population OR
    • High School diploma/GED and a minimum of two years relevant experience.
  • Experience:
    • Lived experience as a parent or direct caregiver of a youth in their family with significant social, emotional, behavioral health, medical or trauma-related needs required.
    • Experienced in navigating child and family-serving systems
    • Minimum 1 year working with the target population
  • Skills:
    • Bilingual Spanish strongly preferred (please indicate language skills on application)
    • Valid Mass drivers license and offsite travel required.
