Job Summary
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will play a vital role in providing professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long-term care settings. Under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician, you will:
- Demonstrate knowledge of nursing principles tailored to the clinical setting.
- Utilize your full scope of nursing expertise to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of residents.
- Perform assessments and administer medications or treatments as ordered.
- Document resident interactions and care outcomes effectively.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with residents, healthcare providers, and the public.
- Communicate clearly while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Counsel residents and families on prevention and treatment plans.
- Engage in other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
To thrive in this role, you should meet the following qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse; an Associate degree is preferred.
- If required, possess IV therapy/management skills as per North Dakota regulations.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Have completed a pre-licensure nursing program with supervised clinical experience or have a minimum of 400 hours of LPN experience.
- Hold an unencumbered LPN license with the State Nursing Board and maintain required competencies and certifications.
- Complete annual continuing education units (CEUs) and competency training as required.
