The Abbey Marina, located on the west end of the lake, is a full-service 417 slip facility with the only protected harbor on Geneva Lake. The marina has boats ranging in size from 19’ up to 42’. The marina offers a wide variety of amenities, which include water and electric service at the slip, dock box, wireless internet, private parking, clubhouse for marina members with a private bar, showers, and changing areas, and lastly a heated in-ground pool. The marina is open to our members from April 1st through October 31st each year.

We operate three bars: The West End bar, located within the Harbor House, Splash, our Pool bar, and our Commodores Corner bar located in the center of our harbor amongst the boats.

Bartenders will rotate through all bars in a typical week. This position exists not only behind the bar, but everywhere inside the Harbor House, around the pool deck, and servicing tables at the Marina bar. Keeping the bar stocked and drinks full is job one. Followed closely by maintaining a pristinely clean property. No sitting around on this job, when the bar is slow, it is expected that you will be clearing tables, wiping surfaces, monitoring our restrooms, and regularly approaching your guests with a smile and an offer to fill their drink. Training and certification are paid.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Engagement:

· Greet and engage members, guests, and coworkers in a friendly, upbeat, courteous, and professional manner

· Exhibit “ownership” attitude in everything you do

· Maintain an emphasis on guest hospitality, impeccable customer service and social perceptiveness

Duties:

· Execute bar opening and closing procedures

· Multitask to ensure rapid service

· Prepare bar area to ensure high-quality and consistent service

· Consistently recreate drinks in a quality manner

· Maintain stock of alcohol and ice to ensure proper service

· Prep garnish trays

· Serve a wide variety of drinks in an efficient manner to the bar and pool areas

· Mix and garnish according to recipe and portion control standards

· Check IDs to ensure legal drinking age

· Use POS system accurately and efficiently

· Secure accurate and timely payment signature from members

· Assist servers and runners as necessary

· Assist in beer, liquor, and bar supplies inventory

· Assist in preparation and decoration for marina party’s and events

· Take out trash and other items to ensure clean serving areas

· Clean bar at the end of the shift to ensure proper cleanliness standards

· Assist in maintaining continuous cleanliness of bar, pool, deck, harbor house doors, windows, storage areas and restrooms as needed

Requirements:

· Complete all required virtual and on-the-job training.

· Understand required work dates and arrive promptly.

· Memorize a significant portfolio of drink recipes.

· Follow all U.S. and Wisconsin serving regulations.

· Be prepared and available to work overtime as needed (in excess of an eight-hour shift).

· Minimum age of 18.

· Must possess a bartender's license or obtain one prior to start date.

REQUIRED SKILLS

· Leadership, trustworthy, attention to detail, communications skills, critical thinking, team attitude, multitasking, patience, and tact.

· Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift and carry 50 lbs., walk for long hours, work in all temperatures inside and out.

ADDITIONAL NOTES Must have availability on weekends, nights, and holidays during the season April 1st –October 8th (holidays include: Memorial Day weekend, Independence Day weekend, Labor Day weekend, COSI boat day, Antique Boat Show, and Special Marina events)
