Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An opportunity is available for skilled Special Education Teachers to support elementary students during the 2025-2026 school year in Hartford, CT. These full-time contract roles span from October 2025 through June 2026, serving 5th and 6th-grade students in an elementary school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction tailored to meet the unique learning needs of students with disabilities
  • Develop, implement, and assess IEPs (Individualized Education Programs)
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote inclusive learning environments
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive student records and progress reports
  • Foster a positive, supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages student growth and development

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification
  • Prior classroom experience in special education, preferably at the elementary level
  • Strong understanding of instructional strategies for diverse learners
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage classroom behavior and maintain a structured learning environment

Location: Hartford, CT
Position Type: Contract, Full-Time (32-37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday)
Grades: 5th Grade (1 position), 6th Grade (1 position)
Duration: October 2025 June 2026
