The City of Lenexa Police Department is currently accepting applications for an Administrative Assistant who is proficient with modern office practices and technology.

Hours: Monday – Friday from 8 am - 5pm

Position Summary

This civilian position provides administrative support to the administrative section of the Police Department and supports other units and divisions as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administrative/clerical duties: Screens, interviews and refers callers; answers questions and provides information on departmental services, events and functions; delivers messages and schedules appointments; routinely handles sensitive information that requires a high degree of confidentiality; responsible for secure files in records vault and secure cabinets in administration area; makes travel arrangements for officers/employees; processes salary increases and promotions.
  • Finance: Processes invoices and purchase orders; codes/records cost numbers on invoices and generates expenditure reports as needed; responsible for credit card, travel receipt reconciliation and vendor coding for City purchase cards; quarterly/annually grant summary financial reporting.

Qualifications

Minimum: High school diploma or G.E.D and valid driver's license required; 2-3 years of previous administrative experience preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting rate of pay is $21.37 to $24.77 per hour ($44,440 - $51,518 annually) dependent on qualifications and directly related experience. The City of Lenexa offers a comprehensive benefits package including:
