Medical Assistant Duties
· Conduct chart preparation ahead of patient visits, ensuring all relevant records, test results, and prior notes are available for provider review
· Manage prior authorizations for medications, imaging, and specialty services, including submission and follow-up
· Coordinate and process prescription refills, working closely with providers and pharmacies to ensure accuracy
· Handle all patient communications (phone, email, and portal) with efficiency, discretion, and a service-oriented approach
· Perform comprehensive EHR documentation, including visit notes, clinical updates, patient histories, and follow-ups
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date digital records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and practice standards
· Assist with scheduling, referrals, and front-desk support as needed to ensure smooth, uninterrupted care
· Collaborate daily with your pod (Medical Assistant + Scheduler) to optimize patient flow and deliver an exceptional care experience
Clinical Duties
· Greet and room patients, obtain vitals, and prepare for physician exams
· Assist with in-office procedures, EKGs, immunizations, and screenings
· Accurately document patient information in the electronic health record (EHR)
· Collect medical histories and assist with physician-directed screenings
· Support basic lab functions, including specimen collection (phlebotomy preferred)
· Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant clinical environment
· Sanitize instruments and exam rooms following OSHA and infection control protocols
Qualifications
· Certified or credentialed Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent)
· Minimum of 1 year of hands-on clinical experience (concierge/private practice preferred)
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills; poised, polished, and professional demeanor
· Proficiency with EHR systems; experience with eClinicalWorks is highly desirable
