Job Purpose:
The Production Coordinator is responsible for managing the day-to-day flow of production by aligning demand, materials, and capacity. This role ensures jobs are released, scheduled, and executed in a way that supports on-time delivery, efficient resource utilization, and clear communication across operations, supply chain, and customer-facing teams. This individual plays a critical role in maintaining production stability and proactively identifying and resolving scheduling or material risks. Lives company core values and supports achievement of VTO goals.
Key Accountabilities:
Production Flow & Scheduling
- Translate customer demand, forecasts, and internal priorities into a clear, executable production schedule
- Release jobs to the floor with the right timing, materials, and routing
- Continuously adjust schedules based on capacity, constraints, and changing priorities
- Make real-time scheduling decisions to balance delivery, capacity, and material constraints
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Partner closely with Purchasing, Operations, and Customer Success to ensure material readiness and schedule alignment
- Communicate risks early (material shortages, capacity conflicts, delays) and drive resolution
Execution & Follow-Up
- Track job progress vs. plan and take action to keep production on track
- Support daily/weekly production meetings with accurate, actionable information
- Operate with urgency in a dynamic environment where priorities shift daily
System & Data Integrity
- Maintain accurate data in ERP (jobs, dates, priorities, status)
- Ensure schedules and production data reflect reality—not assumptions
Continuous Improvement
- Identify inefficiencies in scheduling, communication, and workflow
- Support improvements that increase throughput, reduce delays, and improve visibility

- Material or capacity issues are identified early—not after they impact delivery

- Willingness to spend time on the production floor to understand real-time conditions and constraints
Preferred Experience:
- 2–5 years in manufacturing, production planning, scheduling, or supply chain
- Experience in a job shop or high-mix/low-volume environment preferred
