Overview
Ascent Classical Academy of Douglas County is seeking a detail-oriented, mission-driven professional to serve as Testing Coordinator and Gifted and Talented (GT) Coordinator This dual-role manages all schoolwide assessments, ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, and leads a student-centered GT program aligned with Colorado requirements and the school's classical education mission The ideal candidate is collaborative, skilled in assessment administration, and passionate about fostering academic excellence and the intellectual and moral growth of gifted learners
Essential DutiesTesting Coordinator
Test Planning & Administration

Coordinate standardized testing programs including CMAS, CLT, PSAT, SAT, ACCESS, and district benchmarks

Develop and maintain K–12 testing schedules and communicate them to staff and administrators

Ensure testing accommodations for IEPs, 504 Plans, and English Learner support plans

Prepare testing rooms, materials, and technology for paper-based and online assessments

Oversee test administration to guarantee accuracy, fidelity, and compliance
Compliance & Security

Maintain strict testing security and confidentiality

Train faculty and staff on protocols, accommodations, and security procedures

Investigate, document, and report any testing irregularities

Stay current on state and federal testing regulations
Staff Training & Support

Serve as primary contact for testing-related inquiries

Provide guidance and support to teachers, proctors, and support staff

Deliver professional development on testing procedures and data interpretation

Attend required CSI trainings and share updates with staff
Data Management & Reporting

Coordinate collection, submission, and verification of assessment data

Review reports for accuracy and completeness

Assist teachers and administrators in interpreting assessment results

Maintain organized records of materials and outcomes
Technology Coordination

Collaborate with IT staff to ensure online testing platforms function properly

Conduct system checks and troubleshoot technical issues during testing

Manage student accounts, secure browser setups, and online test logistics
Gifted and Talented Coordinator
-
Lead all aspects of the GT program ensuring compliance with state and district guidelines
-
Identify students for GT services using assessments, teacher and parent input, and other data
-
Develop, implement, and monitor Advanced Learning Plans (ALPs) for all GT students
-
Collaborate with classroom teachers to differentiate instruction and provide academic challenge
-
Offer direct instruction, enrichment, and support opportunities to gifted learners
-
Provide professional development and coaching to faculty on GT instruction
-
Communicate regularly with parents about programming, progress, and enrichment opportunities
-
Maintain accurate documentation of services, student progress, and compliance
-
Serve as liaison with district and state GT programs and participate in student support teams
-
Stay current with best practices and legal requirements in gifted education
-
Align GT programming with the mission and standards of classical education
Required Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; teaching degree preferred or minimum 36 credit hours in a relevant subject, content exam may suffice in some cases

Strong academic background and willingness to receive specialized training

Physical Requirements
