Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with at least two years of recent specialty experience, holding either a MO or compact license, to join a busy community hospital team.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Community hospital Emergency Department with 32 rooms and a combined adult/pediatric patient population
  • Patient ratios are typically 1:4
  • Night shifts (3x12 hours, 18:45–07:15) are required
  • Must work every third weekend or 8 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule period (combination of Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
  • No on-call required
  • Regular floating required within scope to all SLHS Metro Emergency Departments and between departments as needed
  • Facility uses EPIC charting and experience with EPIC is required
  • Scrub color is navy
  • Provides emergency nursing care including handling medical, trauma, psychiatric, and pediatric cases
  • Must be willing and able to float to other EDs within the system as necessary
  • Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments may be required based on the unit’s needs
  • Maximum of 7 days of requested time off (RTO) allowed during the contract
  • Drug screening and annual modules are required prior to start
  • No travel partners accepted for this position

\n \n Requirements\n

  • Active RN license in MO or compact state, and must have both Kansas and Missouri or compact RN license in hand before start
  • Minimum two years of recent Emergency Department RN experience, including at least one year within the past 12 months with no employment gap greater than 90 days in the last year
  • Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
  • Must demonstrate skills in pediatric and psychiatric emergencies, advanced airway and IV management, cardiac monitoring and emergency response, isolation precautions, triage, and orthopedic splint application
  • EPIC EMR experience required
  • Two professional references required: one supervisor level or above and a second from a charge RN, both from the past year
  • Not open to first-time travelers
  • Permanent address must be at least 75 miles from the facility
