Job Description
This role focuses on assembling wiring, sensors, and other components used in custom heating equipment. You will work at various stations with very small parts, primarily in a seated position, performing detailed and repetitive tasks that require strong attention to detail. You will rotate duties and cross-train in different areas, supporting a wide range of custom orders for heating applications used in restaurants, medical devices, and other specialized equipment.
Responsibilities
- Assemble wiring and other components that go into heating equipment according to specifications and work instructions.
- Work at various assembly stations, primarily seated, handling very small parts with consistent accuracy and precision.
- Measure wire accurately and cut it to specified lengths using rulers, scales, and other measuring tools.
- Use prepared kits to assemble products, ensuring all required parts and materials are correctly used and accounted for.
- Add protective coatings around electrical terminals to ensure safe and reliable operation of the finished products.
- Fill casings with cement or other specified materials as part of the sensor assembly process.
- Thread wire through peg boards to create flexible heaters, following detailed patterns and layouts.
- Apply terminals onto materials and add a second layer to cover heaters, ensuring proper alignment and secure connections.
- Place assembled heaters in ovens to cure, monitoring processes as directed and following safety procedures.
- Test sensors and assemblies to verify functionality and quality, following established testing procedures.
- Maintain strong attention to detail while performing repetitive tasks and working with very small components.
- Meet performance metrics and production expectations after the initial training period of approximately 1–2 months.
- Cross-train in both sensor and flex/foam areas to build a diverse skill set and support different production lines.
- Work on orders ranging from small batches to high-volume production runs, adapting to varying order sizes from 1 to 100,000 units.
- Use hand tools such as drills, pliers, wrenches, and similar tools safely and effectively during assembly.
- Follow quality inspection procedures to ensure assemblies meet specifications and standards.
- Read and interpret rulers and scales daily to verify measurements and maintain dimensional accuracy.
- Reference shop drawings and prints when needed, using them to guide assembly steps and confirm product requirements.
- Communicate clearly about previous assembly processes and experience during training and ongoing work.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, housekeeping standards, and company policies while working in the production environment
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cary, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.51 - $17.51/hr.
