Job Description
As a Polisher and Buffer, you will start off in the grinding department, where your primary responsibility will be to use a hand grinder to smooth out rough edges and polish metal surfaces to achieve a refined finish. You will also have the opportunity to cross-train in basic fabrication tasks such as cutting metal to specific lengths using a tape measure, operating brake presses, spot welding, buffing, and preparing items for painting. Additionally, you will assist in other departments as needed, including assembly, packaging, and painting.
Responsibilities
- Operate hand grinders to smooth rough edges and polish metal surfaces.
- Cross-train in basic fabrication tasks, including cutting metal to length using a tape measure.
- Utilize brake presses, spot welding, and buffing techniques.
- Prepare and rack items for painting.
- Assist in assembly, packaging, and painting departments as required.
Essential Skills
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude through previous work experience, education, or hobbies.
- Experience with sheet metal and grinding techniques.
- Proficiency in using a tape measure and understanding of basic mathematics.
- Experience with hand and power tools, welding, fabrication, and sheet metal.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months of manufacturing experience.
- Experience reading measurements with a tape measure.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools.
- Completion of shop classes such as welding, automotive, woodworking, or machine/tool.

Work Environment
You will work in a large manufacturing facility that operates at a fast pace and requires self-motivation. The environment can be somewhat physical and lacks temperature control, which means it can get hot during the summer months. The campus is smoke-free.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Anoka, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.84 - $22.09/hr.
