Job Title: General Production Worker

Job Description

Join a leading manufacturer in the blown film industry, specializing in creating plastic products for Agriculture, Medical, and Manufacturing sectors. As a General Production Worker, you will be instrumental in operating one of our three blown film lines. This role is labor-intensive and fast-paced, requiring you to handle, load, and package large plastic rolls into smaller sizes. You will be an essential part of ensuring quality and efficiency in our production process.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain one of three blown film lines.
  • Use shaft hoists and perform core loading, taping, and tagging.
  • Handle and package rolls, ensuring proper palletizing.
  • Replace trims and switch/change barrels containing products.
  • Perform quality control to identify defective products.
  • Load and maintain the scrap conveyor and respond to system alerts.
  • Label, box, and load 50-pound plastic rolls.
  • Change out cutting knives on machines.
  • Package rolls according to customer and company standards.
  • Monitor rolls for splices and changes.
  • Collaborate with other packers to keep production lines running smoothly.
  • Ensure accurate counts and supplies according to job specifications.
  • Notify lead or supervisor of production defects.
  • Assist in production line changeovers and setups.
  • Follow quality specifications and maintain a clean, safe workplace.
  • Sustain productivity and adhere to OSHA standards.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in general labor and machine operation.
  • Knowledge of packaging and blown film processes.
  • Familiarity with plastics extrusion and injection methods.
  • Proficiency with hand tools and machine operation.
  • Strong mathematical skills for measurement and quality checks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum one year of experience in an industrial environment preferred.
  • Experience with automated manufacturing equipment preferred.
  • Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including weekends.
  • Essential reading and writing skills.
  • Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for 12 hours per shift.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hudson, Wisconsin.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
