Job Summary:
Directs services, workflow, and resources for the nursing department in collaboration with the Executive Director, Medical Director, Facilities Manager, and Clinical Director.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops departmental goals and objectives consistent with medical, administrative, legal and ethical requirements and practice standards for the nursing departments.
- Ensures that nursing policies and procedures are current and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations to nursing services and healthcare.
- Directs clinical activities, including patient assessment, care plan development, service level determination, patient visits, and complaint management to ensure a high standard of care is maintained.
- Ensures accuracy of patient data and medical records to maintain best practice standards and requirements established by regulatory agencies are met.
- Plans, organizes and directs activities related to staffing, scheduling shifts, orienting, evaluating and continuing education initiatives.
- Serves as a key member of the organization’s core management team and ensures effective integration of nursing services into overall operations.
- Oversees nursing staffing levels within the facility on all shifts to ensure quality patient care.
- Prepares and monitors budget(s) and ensures that the assigned nursing area operates within allocated funds. Coordinates and directs internal and externally driven audits.
Required License(s)/Certification(s):
- Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the State Board of Nursing in the State in which the site is located or licensed in a compact licensure state provides a multistate license that allows nurses to practice with patients across state lines.
- BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Education/Experience/Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or a diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required.
- Master's degree or combination of bachelor’s degree and experience preferred.
- Degree from an accredited school/college of nursing OR required professional licensure at time of hire.
- One year experience of professional work as an RN supervisor is desirable
- Previous substance abuse treatment and/or primary care experience strongly preferred
- Maintain continuing education requirements as required by licensing board
- 2 years of leadership or management experience required.
- 5years of leadership or management experience preferred.
Three 12-hour shifts and 4 hours of administrative time
