Position Summary
The Director of Brand Marketing & Sales is a senior, hands-on leader responsible for both the creative and commercial aspects of the brand. This role oversees marketing, brand identity, merchandise, and catering & events sales, ensuring all initiatives reflect the company’s vision and drive measurable revenue. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with operational discipline, leading cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional results across all brand touchpoints.
Key Responsibilities
Brand & Marketing
- Define and execute brand strategy across all company concepts
- Own brand voice, identity, campaigns, social media, PR, and website presence
- Ensure consistent brand messaging from creative vision to execution
Catering & Events Sales
- Direct and support revenue targets for catering and events
- Engage in high-value opportunities and oversee pipeline management
- Maintain systems and processes that drive sales performance
Merchandise
- Build and manage seasonal and evergreen product lines that extend the brand
- Oversee go-to-market execution and track performance metrics
- Continuously refine product assortment based on results and customer feedback
Team Leadership & Operations
- Lead a cross-functional team across marketing, creative, sales, and catering & events
- Manage budgets, vendors, and reporting cadences
- Align teams with strategic goals and operational priorities
Candidate Profile
- Thinks strategically about brand equity while driving revenue
- Has a strong creative point of view with the discipline to execute at scale
- Experienced in merchandise strategy as an extension of a brand
- Skilled in catering or events sales, understanding the full lifecycle from pitch to post-event
- Builds strong relationships with clients, partners, and internal teams
- Passionate about hospitality, food, and creating memorable guest experiences
- Can balance high-level strategy with day-to-day problem solving
Qualifications
- 7–10+ years of leadership experience in hospitality, marketing, catering sales, or multi-unit restaurant operations
- Proven ability to operate at a senior leadership level and influence cross-department execution
- Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth through marketing and sales strategies
- Strong understanding of hospitality operations, guest experience, and event sales
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Proficiency with marketing platforms, social media tools, SEO/SEM, and digital marketing strategies
- Experience with sales and event management platforms such as Tripleseat
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Ability to travel seasonally between Washington, DC, and other markets as needed
